USHAŞ participated in the Health Tourism Forum held in Muğla. It made evaluations on the health tourism potential of the region. Antalya’s success in health tourism was cited as an example, and it was stated that Muğla offers important opportunities in this field with its geographical advantages and wide gulfs.
Mr. Behlül ÜNVER, General Manager of USHAŞ, stated that the Ministry of Health and USHAŞ stand by the stakeholders of the sector and informed about the new health tourism regulation. It was also emphasized that health tourism is not only limited to medical tourism; it should also cover areas such as thermal tourism, healthy living, sports health and disabled tourism.
The forum was attended by leading figures of the sector such as Dr. İdris AKBIYIK, Governor of Muğla, Mahmut Serdar KOCADON, President of Bodrum Chamber of Commerce, Osman ÇIRALI, President of Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bülent KARAKUŞ, President of Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ümit GÜLYAĞI, Secretary General of South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA), Üzeyir IŞIK, Deputy Secretary General of HİB, and Elif URAL, Board Member of TÜRSAB.
The meeting, where the steps to be taken to evaluate the health tourism potential of Muğla and to develop the sector were discussed, created an important platform for strengthening cooperation in the region.
