USHAŞ General Manager Behlül ÜNVER met with the officials of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan on January 10, 2025. The meeting was primarily attended by Mamirov MAVLONOV, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, Head of the Department of Medical Education, Science and Innovation, Head of the Department of Foreign Investments and Grants, Head of the Department of Public and Private Urbanization and Head of the Department of Emergency Services.
During the meeting, USHAŞ General Manager Behlül ÜNVER emphasized Türkiye’s contribution to global achievements in the field of health, the leading role of USHAŞ in international projects and the importance of sustainable policies in health. Emphasizing that Türkiye is one of the world’s leading countries in areas such as kidney transplantation, liver transplantation and plastic surgery, Mr. ÜNVER stated that there are also fields such as phytotherapy, aromatherapy and disability health among the rising values in the health sector.
COOPERATION OPPORTUNITIES AND NEW PROJECTS
During the meeting, various cooperation opportunities in the health sector between Türkiye and Uzbekistan were discussed. Behlül ÜNVER stated that joint projects could be implemented in areas such as the supply of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, the establishment of serum and pharmaceutical factories in Uzbekistan, the construction of a Turkish-Uzbek University Hospital and the training of healthcare professionals.
The Uzbek side, on the other hand, emphasized the importance of Turkish medical teams being active in the field, better analyzing the needs in Uzbekistan and developing projects accordingly. In addition, the need to establish joint working groups including Uzbek healthcare professionals who came to Türkiye for training was brought up.
At the end of the meeting, the details of the field visits were shared between the parties and it was agreed that the first steps of cooperation should start with the supply of medicines and medical devices.
