USHAŞ visited KRG Deputy Minister of Trade Mr. Sarwar KEMAL in his office. During the meeting, cooperation opportunities and joint projects in the field of health were discussed.
The meeting focused on cooperation opportunities in the fields of health tourism such as organ transplantation, plastic surgery, oncology and IVF. In addition, issues such as the training of Iraqi health professionals, the supply of medicines and medical devices, the organization of health fairs and digital health systems were also discussed. The establishment of a Turkish Friendship Hospital in Iraq was also on the agenda and the project was approached positively.
Mr. Behlül Ünver, General Manager of USHAŞ, emphasized Türkiye’s achievements in the field of healthcare and USHAŞ’s role in the international arena and explained the cooperation opportunities in detail.
One of the important agenda items of the meeting was the health insurance system. Comprehensive information was shared on Türkiye’sSocial Security Institution (SSI), private health insurance and complementary health insurance models. KRG officials stated that they would like to benefit from Türkiye’s experience in the field of health insurance and expressed their willingness to start a cooperation process with USHAŞ in this field.
At the end of the meeting, the KRG delegation stated that they plan to make a field visit to Türkiye and sign a cooperation protocol in the field of healthcare. It was emphasized that this meeting will strengthen cooperation in the health sector and lay the foundation for long-term strategic partnerships.
