USHAŞ and KRG Cooperation : Türkiye’s Strength in Healthcare Moves to Erbil

USHAŞ General Manager Mr. Behlül ÜNVER and the accompanying delegation hosted the KRG delegation headed by Mr. Aydın MARUF, KRG Regional Minister for Ethnic and Religious Formations and Member of the Political Bureau of the Iraqi Turkmen Front. During the meeting, USHAŞ’s role as a regulator in Türkiye’s health tourism and international cooperation opportunities were discussed. USHAŞ’s ability to cooperate with both public and private organizations in the health sector by combining private sector dynamism with public assurance was underlined.

 

The meeting emphasized the importance of considering Erbil as a target destination in the field of health and contributing to Türkiye’s health infrastructure in the region. The KRG delegation stated that the construction of health and education facilities in Erbil at Turkish standards would be of great benefit in bringing Türkiye’s success in the field of health to Erbil. In addition, it was stated that the presence of health institutions representing Türkiye in Erbil would provide an attractive opportunity for both patients and healthcare professionals.

 

Mr. Behlül ÜNVER, General Manager of USHAŞ, emphasized that USHAŞ aims to make Türkiye a leading center in the field of international health. In this context, it was stated that new cooperation opportunities could be evaluated by organizing a business forum or workshop in the field of health in Erbil.

 

The KRG delegation expressed that they would like to benefit from USHAŞ’s contributions in areas such as the construction of health facilities, doctor training, support in the field of oncology, and the supply of medicines and medical devices. At the end of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was agreed upon in these areas. In addition, the USHAŞ delegation was invited to Erbil as soon as possible, during which meetings with the Minister of Health and the Consul General of Erbil could be held.
