On 08 January 2025, USHAŞ General Manager Behlül ÜNVER, along with Prof. Dr. Kemalettin AYDIN, Rector of the University of Health Sciences, visited the Deputy Governor of Fergana State of Uzbekistan, Nuriddin MAMAJONOV, in his office. The meeting started with the discussion of the fields of activity of USHAŞ, its international achievements and its role in health cooperation among countries. Our General Manager drew attention to our developing relations with Uzbekistan in the field of health and expressed that we are open to possible cooperation opportunities.
During the meeting, USHAŞ General Manager Behlül ÜNVER detailed the services offered by USHAŞ in areas such as pharmaceutical and medical device supply, consultancy for healthcare investments, establishment of pharmaceutical factories and realization of hospital projects through joint ventures. It was also stated that training programs for Uzbek healthcare professionals can be organized, consultancy on digital healthcare systems can be provided and private insurance models can be worked on. It was also emphasized that these projects could be implemented as a pilot study for Fergana Region.
Mr. Mamajonov, Deputy Governor of Fergana Province, stated that the issue of health insurance is of great importance for them. He also stated that 97% of their pharmaceutical and medical equipment needs are imported and that USHAŞ will have a critical role in this field. During the meeting, proposals for the joint establishment of a serum factory and the realization of the Uzbek-Turkish Hospital project were discussed. In addition, ideas such as organizing international health forums, workshops and congresses; establishing specialized hospitals in specific fields, such as cardiology and oncology, and equipping these hospitals with modern medical equipment were discussed.
