On 4 March 2025, during a meeting with Mr. Majok Guandong Thiep, Ambassador of South Sudan to Ankara, health cooperation between Türkiye and South Sudan was discussed. The role of USHAŞ as a regulator, its international activities and the opportunity to access trusted healthcare institutions through the “HealthTürkiye” web portal were highlighted. Ambassador Thiep stated that Türkiye’s healthcare system is reliable and more advanced than Europe and showed interest in hospital investments, management and public-private partnership projects. In addition, joint studies in the fields of pharmaceutical and medical device supply and health insurance were evaluated.
Mr. Behlül ÜNVER, General Manager of USHAŞ, stated that Türkiye’s experience in the field of health is an international reference point and drew attention to cooperation opportunities in branches such as IVF, oncology, aesthetic surgery and organ transplantation. It was stated that USHAŞ can contribute to the transfer of knowledge and experience by organizing training programs for healthcare professionals. Ambassador Thiep stated that they are open to cooperation with USHAŞ and that an agreement was reached on the preparation of a protocol between USHAŞ and the Ministry of Health of South Sudan.
