The Report of the “Supporting Value Based Health Tourism in TürkiyeProject” that was organized with the cooperation of USHAŞ, AmCham Türkiye, and PwC Türkiye, was launched with the participation of USHAŞ Chairman of the Board Mücahit Sarıtaş, in order to increase Türkiye’s competitive power in the field of health tourism.

Expressing that Türkiye’s progress in the last 20 years in the health system and the point it has reached is a transformation will enter the health policy literature in the world, USHAŞ Chairman of the Board Mücahit Sarıtaş added to his words by saying: “Our country has become an important brand in many areas such as health infrastructure, information technologies in health, physician and treatment quality. The purpose and mission of USHAŞ is to introduce this brand equity to the world and to ensure that these services can be offered to more citizens of the world at the best standards.”

Emphasizing that the most important principle while carrying out the activities of USHAŞ is consultation and common sense, Sarıtaş expressed that USHAŞ will intensify its activities on important topics such as the promotion strategy, providing medical tourists’ access to information, and collecting satisfaction data; adding on that Sarıtaş stated that the works will be shared with industry stakeholders very soon.

Ayhan Öztürk, Co-Chair of AmCham Türkiye Healthcare & Life Sciences Committee of Medtronic, stated that within the Report it was more emphasized on the subject of “What can we do differently in the field of medical tourism in Türkiye and how can we create a new ecosystem?” and added that the “Supporting Value Based Health Tourism in Türkiye Project” was implemented for this purpose. Öztürk said: “The project, carried out with the cooperation of our committee, USHAŞ and PwC Türkiye, aims to develop policy recommendations for Türkiye in order to realize its health tourism goals through advanced technology materials and applications.”

During her speech, Gözde Güllüoğlu, the Co-Chair of AmCham TürkiyeHealthcare & Life Sciences Committee of MSD, said: “At the workshop held in September 2021, where AmCham Türkiye, USHAŞ, PwC Türkiye as well as public and private sector representatives came together, we have identified three strategic priorities: quality, innovation and coordination.” Güllüoğlu stated that providing access to the latest technology within the scope of both pharmaceuticals and medical devices and protecting those is of great importance for Türkiyeto achieve its desired goals in the field of health tourism.
