USHAŞ delegation visited the Embassy of the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam in Ankara and held a meeting with Ambassador Noni Zurainah Binti Haji Ismi and Chief Secretary Sobrina Rosli. During the visit, Türkiye’s strong health infrastructure, its success in international patient services and its global experience in the field of health tourism were discussed and cooperation opportunities between the two countries were evaluated.
During the meeting, Mr. Behlül ÜNVER, General Manager of USHAŞ, emphasized Türkiye’s modern healthcare technologies, expert healthcare staff and competence in the export of healthcare services. It was emphasized that Türkiye’s experience in the field of health should be shared with Brunei Darussalam and joint projects should be developed. In this direction, cooperation opportunities in specific areas such as elderly care, geriatric tourism, spa and wellness tourism were evaluated.
Ambassador Noni Zurainah Binti Haji Ismi requested the initiation of negotiations between the two states on the supply of pharmaceuticals and medical devices and emphasized the importance of public power in this process. She also pointed out that there is a shortage of nurses in Brunei and emphasized the importance of providing training support in this field. The Ambassador expressed his desire for doctors from Brunei to come to Türkiye for training and stated that this process is critical for strengthening bilateral relations in the field of health. It was also agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize the cooperation between the parties in the field of health.
